Titanium alloy is widely used in the manufacturing of mid-frames for high-end smartphones due to its characteristics such as high strength, corrosion resistance, and light weight.
The grinding and polishing solution typically includes the following steps:

Preliminary treatment: First, the titanium alloy smartphone mid-frame is processed by CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine tools to ensure dimensional accuracy and precise shape. This step forms the initial contour, but the surface may have defects such as burrs and tool marks.
Rough grinding: Special metal grinding wheels or sanding belts are used for rough grinding of the initially processed mid-frame to remove obvious burrs and tool marks, and preliminarily flatten the surface.
Semi-finishing grinding: Sandpaper or grinding tools with finer particle sizes are used for semi-finishing grinding to further improve surface smoothness and flatness.
Fine grinding: Ultra-fine grinding paste or polishing cloth is used for fine grinding to further reduce surface roughness and achieve a high mirror effect.
Polishing: Chemical polishing or physical polishing (such as magnetic grinding, vibratory polishing, etc.) technologies are adopted, using special polishing agents and tools to make the titanium alloy surface reach the desired gloss and flatness.
Cleaning and protection: After polishing, the smartphone mid-frame is cleaned to remove residual polishing materials and impurities, and then anodized or subjected to other surface treatments to enhance its corrosion resistance and wear resistance, while also giving the product a specific color and texture.

Notes: Parameters such as temperature, pressure, and time must be strictly controlled throughout the process to ensure product quality and yield, and avoid deformation or damage caused by excessive grinding. In addition, due to the high hardness and good thermal conductivity of titanium alloy, appropriate tools and process methods need to be selected during grinding and polishing. Meanwhile, safety protection for operators should be well implemented.
Furthermore, the entire process should be carried out in a dust-free environment to prevent impurity contamination from affecting the polishing effect and product quality.
